Hey guys, I hope that you have already gone through my previous article i.e How to set up your Blog. Where I promised that I would write the procedure to install your WordPress. I believe by this point of time, you have a little bit idea about WordPress.
WordPress is a simple CMS platform by using it you can easily run your Website. It gives you several features including plug-in architecture and template system. It was first introduced in the market on 27th may, 2003. Now a day’s more than 70 million users use WordPress on their Blog as a Webhosting system.
There are many people who have no idea about it. Therefore I am here to advise “how to install WordPress” by using “Web Application Messaging Protocol”, commonly known as “WAMP”. It will help you to understand what is it all about.
How To Install WordPress On WAMP
Firstly, you have to download any Web Sever. As I spoke earlier, I will take WAMP to install WordPress. So, just go to WAMP site and download it. But be sure that no Web Server should be active during the installation process.
When you go to the WAMP sever site and click “Start Using WAMP Server”, a page will come to your screen where you will get two options to opt. One is 32 bit and another is 64 bit. If your computer supports 32 bit then download 32 bit and otherwise go for 64 bit server.
After finishing your WAMP download, just go to its download location and install it by double clicking on its icon. One thing you should keep in mind that you have to install WAMP with default setting. Then activate the WAMP server.
Open your browser again and type wordpress.org. Now you can easily download your latest version of WordPress. It will download to your computer as a .rar file.
Extract WordPress file.
Open My Computer
Click On Local Disk C
Go to wamp –> www
Paste extract WordPress file.
Now go to your Web browser and open http://localhost web page . Then Click on phpmyadmin. You will get the page like below
You will see the database button on top of the page. Select database to create new WordPress to install.
Then fill up the necessary details and create your new database for WordPress.
Open http://localhost/wordpress in another tab of your browser. Then click on” create a configuration file”.
When you click on the above button which is mentioned on the above, the following page will be shown to your Computer. Then just move your mouse cursor to the “Let’s Go” button and click on it.
Here you have to fill up your database connection details.
Database Name- WordPress (Select & Type Your Database Name)
User Name- root
Password- Don’t give any password
Database Host- localhost (Keep it Default)
Table Prefix-wp_ (Keep it Default)
After submitting your database details, click on “Run the install” to fill your site information.
Now put your blog details such as blog title, user name, admin password valid E-mail address etc into this page.
And finally the time has come. WordPress is successfully installed on your computer after clicking on “install WordPress” button of “Information Needed”page. Now you can easily log-in to your admin page by putting user name and password.
WordPress using WAMP is the perfect start for the beginners. Once you become familiar with it, you can buy your domain and start your own blog. I can assure you that it will be a wonderful experience.
